News: Neighbors of Sylvan Park Residency

Very excited to announce that I finally landed one of those sought after and elusive Nashville residencies. And, at a really cool spot, to boot: Neighbors of Sylvan Park. The second Tuesday of every month from 8-10pm, we have a house band playing songs we wrote, as well as a few choice ones we did not, and we also feature some of the best singer/songwriters we know. This is really cool, as Neighbors is the first place I saw artists such as Anderson East and Brent Cobb sing their songs. Great company indeed! So, please come see us some Tuesday.

Cheers!

News: On the Up

Man, I've been laying low.  Chasing after an elusive and slippery motivation.  But, I think I've got a rope around it.  Spent a good week in Texas with some old and new friends.  And, I'm booking shows for the fall.  At some point on this road, my life began feeling a little like this:But, I'm in a good place now.  I've been writing again.  Which feels pretty damn good. For a while and for multiple reasons, I just couldn't find the words.  But, they are slowly coming back.  And there is a new album in the works.  "In the works" meaning, I am planning on recording sooner than later.  As a thanks to anyone and everyone who checks in on the website, I'm going to leave a new song to listen to.  Its a demo of one I've really enjoyed playing the last few years called "Window From the Sky."  It'll be at the bottom of the page.  Enjoy! Much love to all!

Full Disclosure

TO ANYONE WHO IS KEEPING TRACK OF MY PROGRESS, OR LACK THEREOF HERE IS WHAT'S BEEN HAPPENING WITH ME. WELL, TO MAKE A LONG STORY SHORT AND TO PUT IT BLUNTLY, I KIND OF WENT NUTS. MY LIFE HAS BEEN OUT OF BALANCE AND I'VE BEEN STRUGGLING WITH MALAISE AND LACK OF MOTIVATION, WHICH LED TO A REAL MOFO OF A WRITER'S BLOCK IN TERMS OF SONGS. BUT, IN THE ABSENCE OF SONGS, I FINISHED A ROUGH DRAFT OF A BOOK I'VE BEEN WORKING ON AND OFF FOR A DECADE OR SO. TENTATIVELY TITLED "ODE TO NOWHERE" IT IS CURRENTLY SITTING ON MY DESK, ABOUT 200 HUNDRED TYPED PAGES BOUND BY THOSE LITTLE BRASS PINS THAT SPREAD OUT ON THE BACK (I THINK THEY'RE CALLED BRADS, WHICH IS ODD BECAUSE IT JUST MAKES ME THINK OF A GROUP OF SPORTS BAR BROS)...NEVERTHELESS, HOPEFULLY, I'LL GET A FINISHED PRODUCT SOON, SO THAT ANYONE WHO IS INTERESTED CAN GET THEIR HANDS ON IT.

I'M CURRENTLY SITTING ON A FEW YEARS WORTH OF SONGS, AND A FEW MONTHS BACK I WAS TALKING TO STUDIOS AND ENGINEERS, AND EVEN CONSIDERING GOING THE BONAFIDE PRODUCER ROUTE, BUT MY HEADSPACE WAS A MESS, AND I DIDN'T THINK DRAGGING THAT TO THE SESSIONS WOULD BE GOOD FOR THE RECORD. BUT, I THINK I AM CURRENTLY ON THE UP. I JUST GOT BACK FROM PLAYING SHOWS IN TEXAS WHERE I SAW SOME OLD FRIENDS AND MADE SOME NEW ONES, AND IT WAS A MIGHTY FINE TIME. I'M FINDING SOME MOTIVATION TO START WRITING SONGS AGAIN. I'M JUST WAITING FOR A GOOD WAVE TO TAKE ME IN. JUST FINISHED A NEW SONG LAST WEEK, CAN'T WAIT TO PLAY FOR YALL. I'M ALSO IN THE PROCESS OF BOOKING FOR THE FALL, AND SUPER EXCITED ABOUT GETTING BACK ON THE STAGE; GOT A LOT OF "WE'LL LET YOU KNOW" EMAILS I NEED TO FOLLOW UP ON.

I MISS AND LOVE EVERYBODY A WHOLE LOT! CAN'T WAIT TO SEE YALL SOON!
